Automobiles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers reported they were notified by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with reddish substance

Roughly 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Officers state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they added.

Police then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police state initial examinations indicate the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; officials are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the residents for information.

An important representative commented the attack left him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on social media, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
